Aligning with its commitment to academic freedom, scientific mobility and excellence, France is welcoming international researchers who wish to work in an environment conducive to academic freedom.
The application should include the following elements :
- Personal information
- CV
- Reasons for applying (i.e. how does the international context influence the candidate’s decision to apply in France ? How does this decision fit in with their academic and/or professional career ?)
- Research project
- Budget details
- Details about the host institution
- List of potential partners
Research projects in the following areas are particularly welcomed :
- Health research
- Climate, biodiversity and sustainable societies
- Digital technology and artificial intelligence
- Space studies
- Agriculture, sustainable food, forests, and natural resources
- Low-carbon energy
- Digital components, systems, and infrastructure
The application will be evaluated according to the following criteria :
- Quality of the research project
- Context of the application
- The researcher’s motivations for pursuing their research in France
- Ability to secure funding for the project
The successful applicants will commit to submitting a competitive European or international research project within 2 years of their arrival.
Each selected project will be co-financed up to 50% by the government. The funding must be supplemented by the host institution, which can call on local authorities and the private sector for this purpose.
